Classes

Streetdance/Adult Dancercise

Street dance 3 yrs to 154yrs, Dancercise 16yrs to Adults This class consists of a warm up and cool down with a limbering and strengthening section. In the main body of the class, a dance routine will be taught over a period of 4 weeks. The dance moves will be a mixture of modern and theatrical, similar to moves used on music videos. Classes are available for both Adults and children and examinations can be taken in IDTA.

Tap and Modern

Examinations for ISTD start at Primary and move up the grades 1-6. Professional qualifications can then be taken in Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2. Examinations for IDTA will be medals through to trophies, the emphasis on this being performance based examinations. If a student wishes to gain teaching qualifications or audition for professional work, this should be brought to the teachers attention as soon as a possible to ensure the correct careers advice and guidance is given.

Belly Dancing

The classes are fortnightly for 2 hour sessions, the style consists of various elements of Turkish, Egypitian, Lebonase, Tribal, Gothic and Fusion.  The classes are fun as well as an excellent form of exercise.  IDTA examinations can be taken.

Mini Music and Movement

From age 8 months to 4 years, these classes are an introduction to singing, instruments and movement for toddlers and preschool children. The classes are designed to give the children confidence, to improve their co-ordination, have fun and make lots of noise! Parents/Guardians are encouraged to be actively involved in these classes.

Junior Ballet and Tap from 2½ to 4 yrs

These classes introduce the children to a structured class enviroment. From the age of 2½ the children are taught tap and ballet through lessons designed to promote their physical fitness, coordination and early learning skills. These children have the opportunity to take IDTA rossette examinations which is also an introduction to the examination process.

Parent and Toddler Dance

From age 1 to 3 years, this class is designed to introduce young children to dance and prepare them for the next step into the junior ballet and tap class. The parent/guardian is involved in the class and encourages the children to do the movements. A great class to have fun with your child. I have devised a syllabus for this class that will run on a half termly basis, repeating the same activities for those weeks so that the children become more competant at them, by changing them after 5 or 6 weeks children are ready to move on to learn new skills. There are movements, dancing, games and actions songs for each theme.

Adult Tap

Whether you are a beginner or have tap danced before, this is a great class for keeping fit and having fun. This class will improve your co-ordination, fitness and motor skills, you will have the chance to perform in the shows and take IDTA examinations, if you would like to.

Musical Theatre

This class is for 5 to 16 year olds and consists of preparing the body physically for theatrical performance, through exercise and stimulating artistic ability through dance movement, improvisation, singing, acting and interpretation of music. The use of hand props, make up and more. Examinations in IDTA Musical Theatre and Theatre Craft can be taken.
