Dear All

First of all I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in the Christmas show, it was a great success and we raised £520 for Cancer Research, which I am so thrilled about as I didn’t think we would raise that much, so well done to everyone.

Spring Term 2007 is just around the corner. At the moment I have just one class for Mini Music at 10.am on Monday mornings, but if you would like to join in again next term, please let me know before Wednesday 3rd January and I will split the classes into 10 am and 10.45am classes. I will let everyone know by Friday 5th January what time your class will be next term.

I have had to change the timetable again, due to new classes being added. I do apologise if this does not suit you, but this was the only way I could organise it.

It is an 11-week term, dates as follows: -

There will be NO dancing on Saturday 24th February 2007

Half Term is Saturday 10th February 2007 to Wednesday 14th February 2007

News

I will be organising ISTD examinations, further details when I have them.

Black Cherry Fair – We will be doing a float, stall and dancing in the arena as we did last year, so please keep this date free (either 7th or 14th July) I will let you know as soon as it is confirmed. The theme for the float is Nursery Rhymes so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I was thinking of doing a summer school, this year, if you are interested, please let me know. I was also thinking of doing Mini Music/Parent and toddler dance sessions over the summer, they would be held on Monday and Thursday mornings (9 sessions, you choose 5 or 6 sessions out of 9 to allow for a two week holiday) I will be giving more details next term.

The Encore Theatre Arts website is now up and running and I require permission from each of you to put photographs on the site. If you DO NOT want yours or your childs photographs on the website please let me know by January 6th 2007. There are some on there already but I am not putting the Christmas show photographs on there until after 6th January. The photographs of the Christmas show will be available to purchase and we are also hoping to put a DVD together as well. Again more details next term. Payment for classes is due at the beginning of term. As I didn’t collect any deposits for Mini Music at the end of last term, for this time only, please pay at the beginning of term.

If you have any ideas for other classes, please come and discuss them with me. Lastly, thank you all for your support during 2006, I never imagined that the school would take off so quickly and the year would be so busy. We raised just over £1000 for various charities, which is absolutely fantastic, lets hope 2007 is even better.
